Why Would Sabrina Colour Her Hair?
This evening, 2 of my colleagues and I attended a public forum on the topic of 'Workfare' organised by MCYS at IRAS. Dr Vivian Balakrishnan (Minister for MCYS) and Mrs Yu-Foo Yee Shoon (Minister of State, MCYS) headed the forum. To my surprise, I saw Sis Selena, Bro Kenny and Sis Jelaine there as well!
Anyway, earlier on today, my supervisor asked me a rather interesting question. He asked me why my hair was dyed. Haha... I thought, need there be a reason? Then he told me that he thought I am a rather straight person, so my 2-tone brown didn't really fit that image hehe... but my supervisor is one who can be a bit playful at times and tease people, so he meant no harm hee...
Well, on this subject of hair colour, I've dyed and highlighted my hair 3 times so far in my entire life, and that was all done within the past 1 year. I've had natural, black hair all along and seriously, I love black hair. I remember those times when my mother would urge me to go to the salon and colour my hair and I simply refused to budge. When I see her using the DIY dye on her hair at home, I couldn't understand why she would spend so much time on that. Plus the smell!!
But some things can be quite unpredictable. Upon the influence of a few of my good friends in church, and after much consideration on my part, I decided to take the plunge and go for a dye and highlight. Frankly speaking, I was quite taken aback the very moment I saw the 2-tone brown. I didn't feel comfortable with it at all and thought I looked really bad. I thought I made a mistake. But as days went by, I began to get adjusted to my new look and soon fell in love with the colour, which some people commented was quite bright from certain angles. So from then on, I've always had 2-tone brown. :) Think next time I wanna try out a brighter colour or go for some other colour like red maybe... :)
