A Long Weekend

Finally, a long weekend is here! And the best thing of all is that, it was graciously and unexpectedly extended till Tuesday for me by my supervisor.

As most of the staff was on annual leave, there were very, very few people in office this week. It was also a week where I had to attend to numerous phone calls that kept coming in daily as well as a couple of walk-ins.

Last Friday, it was my turn to work from 9am-6pm. Because those on half-day duty for the morning had left, only 4 people (my sup, the admin assistant, the administrator & me) were around in the afternoon. At about 3pm, my sup came to ask me if I wanted to go off early (hee… he wanted to give me time-off). As I had to wait for someone to drop by the centre around that time, I wasn’t able to. Only at about 430pm then I started packing up. Just as I was about to go, my sup came up to me again and to my great surprise, he said he thought of giving me a day off next Tuesday! It’s an internal thingy, but it’s a blessing. That means I will only go back to work on Wednesday next week! Wow! Thank God for divine favour!

Well, I was glad that I could have time-off on Friday because I brought my guitar to work that day, intending to take a cab down to Gary and Meiling’s house for our thanksgiving cg in the night. Besides, I was planning to buy a few packets of carrot cake for the pot blessing dinner, so my hands would be full. So in the end, I took MRT down all the way and bought the carrot cake at Compass Point before walking over to Housi. And we had a great thanksgiving that night.

Hmmm… what shall I do over the next 2 days? One thing would be to have a good rest, because I haven’t taken any medical leave at all ever since I started work in September (thank God for a strong and healthy body!), and also because I am not able to take leave since I am on probation. My appraisal and confirmation is also approaching soon in early Feb. Praying for God to direct my steps :)
