FAULTY DAY

This morning, Aunty Eng the cleaner from Student Care went to the centre that was adjacent to office to do her usual cleaning-up... all of a sudden, she appeared back in office, her total being drenched. When we asked her what had happened, she told us that one of the water pipes had burst and resulted in the flooding of 2 rooms. That centre was the place where we usually hold our talks/workshops/groupwork programmes. Yet, thank God that the flooded rooms were rather empty, just that 1 of them had electrical appliances in it, which can pose as a hazard.

Then, a few moments later, some of us in office smelt something burning. Smelt like burnt rubber. Suspecting that one of the wires in the Generator Room was the source, Ephraim and Regina went to check it out but found nothing amiss. Finally, when we went to the pantry to look around, Regina spotted black, greyish marks around the electric socket that had the kettle and refrigerator's plugs attached to it. The eletric socket is faulty too!

Last week, the VCR and TV also had problems... one couldn't record with sound while the other lost its colour. Time for major overhaul...
