Job Interview Today

I had a job interview today at the Autism Association (Singapore). Before I went out of my house this morning, I felt kind of anxious. So in my room, I prayed and committed the interview to God. In the train along the way, I prayed in the Spirit under my breath and could feel God's Presence. And that helped to calm me down.

Though I was physically tired, I was quite awake by the time I reached Clementi MRT. From there I took a 10-min walk to the place. Upon reaching the place, I waited at the void deck for a couple of minutes more before going in. Then as I walked in, I just prayed again. Thank God for His peace :) And thank God that the interview didn't turn out to be that scary after all. 2 people (a man and a lady) interviewed me. They were very warm and nice, and talked to me for about half an hour. I found out from them that the position of 'social worker' that I applied for is actually in the field of school social work. I also found out that this is something new that the Association is implementing for the first time, apart from the youth centres and parent support groups that they already have. Not only will I be working with teachers and paraprofessionals, I will also be required to carry out home visits, assess the families and write case reports. I was encouraged by the lady to pick up the Malay language so that I can provide more effective services to Malay families. Hmm... sounds like a good idea... anyway, they have lots more candidates to interview and will get back to me as soon as they can.

Next Wednesday I have another interview with Thye Hwa Kwan Moral Society.

I have just finished my lunch of instant noodles - Myojo Thai Tom Yam - which my dad prepared for me. He also grilled chicken thighs... yummy! :)

Now going to take a rest before going to church later. Greeter duty @ 7pm :)
