HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEILING
Today is Meiling's birthday. Happy Birthday Mei! You are the 3rd person I know whose birthday falls on this date! Am sure you will have a fabulous time tonight at Swensens. Enjoy yourself to the full ah... can't wait to see ur pics! :)
For those who may not know, Meiling is one of my very good friends in cell, in church, in life... one of the most bubbly and caring sisters I've ever known. I got to know her only 2 years ago in beginning 2004 when N252 was first formed as she and Gary were multiplied out of their previous cg to come over. Before then, I'd never noticed nor seen her anywhere around in church, even though she used to be in usher ministry!
Meiling will say that she remembers me as the first person whom she talked to in N252, as the girl who carried an Old Chang Kee plastic bag to meet her and Gary at Bishan MRT before our very first cell group meeting together. For me, I remember her as the second person in N252 whom I sms-ed to ask for her date of birth as I was doing up the cg contact list. 1-2 weeks after, she sms-ed me to say that Gary and her can help to print out the contact list on "nice nice" paper and distribute it to the cg. I was very touched and impressed by their initiative and that was the first step of getting to know them better.
Before knowing Meiling, I had never gone on MSN and Friendster before. In fact, I had never downloaded MSN Messenger and never knew Friendster existed. After knowing Meiling, it was she who introduced me to them, and subsequently, to picture-taking and blogging. Meiling has now become my MSN kaki and I will miss her if I don't see her online for a day! haha... She is also the one who 'modified' my 'Sabie' nick into the following: Sabi, Babi, Bina, Bin... don't ask me why or how these came into existence cos it just happened haaa...
Truly, knowing a great pal like Meiling has brought on so much cheer and fun into my life, so I can't imagine how life would be like if I never got to know her at all. Whenever I need to talk to someone or share things with, she's one of those whom I can trust and depend on and share with. When I feel down, she'll be there to encourage me with her cheery sms-es or give me a call to find out how I am doing. And when I am happy, she'll also be there to share my joy.
