POOR TERRAPIN...
This morning, I went on a home visit with Audrey. I was going to visit one of my clients while she was going to visit 2 of hers. We usually do home visits in pairs for safety reasons, so that if anything were to happen at least there's another person present. We walked all the way from office to every single block that we planned to go. Though we weren't under the noon sun, the weather was already hot enough to make us perspire. It took us an entire 1 and a half hours, but along the way, we popped back into office to get a drink before stepping out again to the last destination.
Anyway, when Audrey and I were passing through an open-air car park, I chanced upon a dead terrapin! It was overturned, lying on its back on one of the parking lots with its head stuck out and the head seemed to b sunk halfway into the soil on the ground. We were quite shocked to see the terrapin in that state and wondered what happened. I hoped no one actually threw the terrapin down from the HDB flat upstairs because that would have been really cruel. Maybe I feel for that terrapin because I have 5 terrapins at home which are very large, and there was actually a 6th one but it died soon after my mother brought all of them home in 1997. So sad...
