THE STORY OF LIZZIE
Know what Lizzie stands for? Think it's quite obvious to many. Lizard!
Lizards are one type of insects that I can't stand the most, and also one of those that I am very, very afraid of. Whether it's a tiny one, medium-sized one or a large one, I can freeze in my tracks or scream when I see one.
The worst thing to happen to anyone when they encounter a lizzie, I believe, is for a lizzie to drop down on their heads or bodies. For me, I think this has happened only once to me so far, where a lizzie dropped down onto my head and hopped down to the kitchen floor. In other situations which I encounter lizzies more frequently, they simply appear in my room or up on the bathroom ceiling. When this happens, I will sleep in another room for the night and the next few nights or use a different bathroom until I am sure the lizzie isn't there anymore. Actually, I know that it will hide itself in one corner, unseen to anyone. But as long as I don't see it, I will be ok. If not, I can go hysterical haaa...
My most recent encounter with lizzies took place last night. I had just returned home from work and was about to step into the dining area when I looked up and saw a very large lizzie on the top right hand corner of the ceiling! As expected, I let out a loud yell. (What can I do anyway?) Then I called for my father who quickly came to take a look. Without hesitation, he stood on the steps of the staircase and reached out with his bare hands to catch hold of that lizzie! After gaining a firm grasp of it, he took it and threw it out of the window. There goes the lizzie, twelve storeys down. Well, I thought that was the last I saw of it. As I stepped into the dining area, I let out another yell! Part of its tail (the end part) had landed on the floor and was wriggling around violently by itself!! Eeeeeeeek!!! Quickly called my dad again who came and used a piece of tissue paper this time to pick it up and flush it down the water cistern.
No words to speak... even as I am typing this now, the entire scenario can make me cringe.
