Internet Sabie

This morning I received a very cute Snoopy hand-rest, a Wee Bears Collection koala and a card. They are birthday gifts from Yina. We had met up at J8 and though she had to go home very fast after that, we arranged to have lunch together next week.

The hand-rest has more than one function. Not only can I place my wrist on it while I am using the mouse, I can also use it for cleaning the monitor screen. But I guess I won't use it like a feather duster... that would be too 'cruel'... Snoopy will only turn black faster, because this one is light yellow in colour... so I'll just use it as a hand-rest. And I think I'll also put it beside my pillow together with some of my other soft toys when I sleep so that it won't be lonely. :)

Tomorrow I'll be going for an interview at Daybreak Family Service Centre at 1pm. I've just checked the street directory and found that it is very near Khatib MRT... within walking distance of 5-10 minutes. And since it's scheduled in the afternoon, I don't have to wake up that early tomorrow.

To prepare myself a bit for the interview, I spent the afternoon online today, reading up on Methodist Welfare Services because that is the organisation that runs Daybreak. I also sent out another resume via email to a Christian voluntary welfare organisation. Besides these, I read through some of my friends' blogs. And then I forwarded the convocation gown collages to 2 other email a/cs that I have. I did that as a security measure, because after having gone through PC virus attacks twice this year and having to reformat Windows all over again, I try to be more careful now and backup whatever things I need to backup.

Personally for me, I love to go online. Whenever I'm home, I would be online most of the time. Though I'm not studying now and don't have to do research and assignments, having internet access allows me to do many other things... I blog, read blogs, surf Friendster, check emails, chat on MSN and post pictures to my blog. Most of the social work job opportunities are posted online too, so I can check for openings from time to time. Apart from that, I send sms to friends who are SingTel or Starhub users via the net, because it's free! Even when my PC is off, the moment I receive an sms from a SingTel or Starhub user, 90% of the time I will immediately go online to reply if I have access to internet. A very good way to save on hp bill, cos every cent counts, at least to me :) But don't know why, the number of sms-es I send sometimes still amount to 800+ or even 1000 or more. Can't magine how many they would amount to if I used my hp solely for sending sms hee... Anyway, I think I'm really glued to internet and the PC, cos I will bring my lunch up to the room and consume it in front of the PC. Have I become an internet addict?! :)

yes it's free.. SingTel got the 'internet sms' function on its website. It says that within a day, we can send up to 20 sms per hp number (of the recipient), but they didn't mention anything about cost. Meiling and Isabel sometimes also use internet to send sms to me... :)
