Gathering
Tonight I met up with my ex-secondary school classmates for dinner at J8's Pasta Mania. It's been a really long time since we last gathered. There are actually 5 of us who were supposed to meet, but only 4 could make it today. Out of these 4, 3 of us (including me) were in the same class from Sec 1 all the way to Sec 4. We were all a clique by ourselves, but also formed smaller subgroups on our own at different points in time when conflicts/misunderstandings arose. I still remember that I used to be the middleman when such things happened, and how I used to listen to my friends for hours either on the phone or face-to-face, and I would find myself being triangulated into these conflicts. Some of those disputes were rather silly now that I come to think of it... but being teenagers then, I think we tend to be rather sensitive creatures hee...
After we graduated, we would still meet up every year to celebrate each other's birthdays. Yet, after all of us turned 21, we never met up anymore... guess maybe my friends and I get a bit more passive about such things after the number '2' appears because we can never see a '1' as the first digit for our age anymore... unless of course we live to a 100....
I reached home at around 945pm. Guess who greeted me at the door? Pepper!! He's ever so friendly and active... but actually, he gave me a scare instead. Cos whenever I come home, it's either my father or mother who would sometimes be at the door. But I don't expect to see a dog! The moment I saw him, I got a fright and was stunned for a little while until my brother got hold of him and led him back into the house. But I soon got over my initial shock and wasn't that scared anymore.
