HEATY

This was what happened last Saturday.

At around 3-4am, I was woken up by a very bad cough and couldn’t stop coughing. I didn't switch on the room light and just sat down on the floor beside my bed to rest. At the same time, I left my room door slightly ajar with light shining partially into my room.

In the next moment that followed, I got a shock of my life! Amidst my coughing, sprinkles of blood appeared on the side of my bed! I looked at the fingers on my left hand and saw that there was blood too! I realised in an instant then that I was nose-bleeding. Immediately I ran to the toilet to wash away the blood. Blood still flowed out of my left nostril and I was kind of taken aback by what was happening because I haven’t had nose-bleeding for a very long time.

I went to wake my father and told him what happened. And my mother got awakened as a result. Both of them were very concerned for me. I guess I am still like a child inside of me. When things like that happen on an irregular basis, the next thing I do is to call my dad or mum for help. I was confused for a moment. My father says tilt back. My mother says let it flow. So I just let it be. Shortly after, the bleeding stopped so I went back to sleep.

At about 7.15am, I woke up to go to work. When I was about to start washing up, blood flowed down from my left nostril again! It was like a running tap that doesn't stop. I prayed for the bleeding to stop and squeezed the bridge of my nose too, according to what my mum told me. Thank God the bleeding stopped again after some time. So I went to work.

At about 12pm, after I ended work, a trickle of blood flowed down again. Nose-bleeding for the 3rd time in less than 12 hours! I was still in office and quickly grabbed tissue to dab it try. This really gave me a shock. Good thing was, that was the last time it ever happened that day. Ever since then, I have been alright. Think
I must have taken too much heaty stuff already.

Away with fried stuff for now. And on to more veggies, steamed dishes and water.
