BINTAN RETREAT: DAY 2
(15 OCT 2006)
Tuna sandwich breakfast prepared by Lucy and me. There's tuna mayo, black pepper tuna and one other flavour which I can' remember. I woke up at 6.45am (Singapore time) that day. Lucy best, didn't even sleep much the whole night.

After breakfast, the various programme managers took turns to present an evaluation of their respective programmes from Apr 05 to the present... first on the list was me... for Strength Works

Next was Fiona, for My Home

Then Laura, for Family Works

Siew Bee, for Student Care Centre

And Lucy, for School Family Education (SFE)

After that, we went into brainstorming and discussion about our Centre's mission... this is the initial portion of what we came up with

Another sub-group came up with this

Howe Lai showed us this... familiar?? SMART!

A strategic thrust is needed for our Centre

A set of broad action plans is needed too... this is just an example that Howe Lai used to illustrate what a broad action plan for Strength Works might look like

Though it's a programme presentation-cum-team discussion, everyone seems relaxed

Howe Lai appears to be full of energy and motivation as he leads the team on in discussion

Finally time for lunch! Porridge with minced meat and carrots! Century egg porridge! Yummy!

All thanks to our superb chefs! Regina prepared the plain porridge first while Auntie Grace shelled the century eggs

Cutting the eggs

Aunt Joyce had a hand in preparation of lunch too

Aunt Yin also

There were braised peanuts, spicy tofu, pickled lettuce and garnishings to go along with the porridge

Lucy enjoying her porridge

Mmmm... couldn't taste better!

Can I have some more?

Free and easy time after lunch... so we went in groups to the beach for a nice walk

My sea, my home... just for the day haha

I picked up a seashell!

Aunt Grace enjoying the cool breeze

Ephraim getting his feet refreshed in the cool waves of the sea

Regina looking for more seashells

Aunt Grace: Whey!! Fifif, don't pull my hair! ... Fiona: Yay!!!

Daybreak: The future is ours!

Huh? Where?

Later part of the day... some of them stopped somewhere for a drink

3 beauties

Ephraim the part-time beer boy?

Did you all know that there's a big monitor lizard named Dino within Nirwana resort?

Beautiful!

How I wish I can swim

There's this huge chessboard where we can play giant chess! The pieces are movable de!

Fifi: My turn! ... Eph: No, my turn! (friendly suqabble)

Laura asked me to bring her to the pool for a swim and stopped for a pose

Fiona the Hibiscus girl

Back at the villa, more shots
