PEPPER DOG
Pepper has come to stay with me and my parents! In case some of you are wondering who Pepper is, he is my brother's cute little white maltese.
My brother and sis-in-law flew off to Tokyo last week for their vacation. Since no one would be around to take care of Pepper, and because my brother wasn't in favour of sending him to a pet hotel, my mother suggested that Pepper can come and stay with us. So he has been at my place for a number of days already.
For someone like me who has dog phobia, I felt a bit uncomfortable at first. Felt so weird having a dog around the house. Thank God Pepper is a good boy. He behaves well (most of the time), for he recognises certain boundaries around my house, where he can go to and where he should not enter. He's toilet-trained, but the first 2 days, he pee-ed on the kitchen floor and next to the piano (sigh....). But overall, he's extremely friendly and he likes to go near my dad and mum. He will approach me too but stop at a short distance when he realises I don't want him to come so near. Actually I'm alright with him (I do stroke him and play 'Fetch' with him wan lei). I'm okay with him coming near but will just squirm when he tries to lick my feet.
Pepper's dog biscuits and water are placed in the kitchen toilet, and my brother set up a barricade there. The first few nights, we put Pepper in there to let him sleep and he ended up making a big fuss throughout the night... Usually he doesn't bark at all but when he is locked up, he will whine incessantly and start barking to get attention. So now, we let him out to sleep on the sofa and he loves it very much.
Will Pepper's stay help me to cultivate a love for dogs? Hmmm.... not sure about that... I still prefer cats lah, haha!

It's funny leh.. cats & dogs can never be at peace. Most of the people I know either likes dogs or likes cats.. seldom will have anyone who likes both! =)
hee... ya loh... but maybe for Pepper it's a rare case... I am starting to like him being around...that is, only him :)
