An Early Birthday Celebration!

Tonight I had an early birthday celebration with my family! :) Father, mother, brother, sis-in-law and me. It was a rather impromptu arrangement actually, because we only decided on it today. My brother sms me in the morning to ask when I wanted to celebrate. I told him I don't mind having a belated one because every weekday night of the coming week would not be available. Also, my father had the intention to cook prawn noodles with chicken for everyone tonight. In the end, it was fixed that we will eat out, and I chose Marina South steamboat BBQ. So my brother and sis-in-law came to fetch me and my parents in the evening.

As we were approaching Marina South, however, we saw that all the roads leading to Marina South were sealed off... it was only then that we realised they were sealed off bewteen 6-14 August... and today is the 14th. So that means we had to change destination. I was somewhat disappointed, but when my brother suggested going to Great World City's Country Manna, the idea sounded good to me, so there we went.

It was rather funny, or amusing I would say... Majority of us wore bermudas/shorts (I wore jeans hee...) because we didn't expect to end up in a shopping mall. So when we reached Great World City, my father, brother and sis-in-law felt quite under-dressed. Nevertheless, we trotted down happily to Country Manna.

And wow, the ambience was great! The place was cool, and there's even a pianist playing song after song on the piano. As soon as the waitress finished taking our orders, my brother brought out a small piece of chocolate cake which he had bought earlier and placed it on the table in front of me. The cake was so pretty! Cos it had a Xiao Ding Dang figurine on it! So cute!! :) When the waitress saw the cake with a lighted candle, she asked us if we wanted the pianist to play a birthday song. My family said 'yes', and so the pianist played, and my family sang me a birthday song (City Harvest style but slightly toned-down haha...). It was so, so special. And I received my first birthday present for the year -- Hillsong's live worship CD "God He Reigns". I asked for it actually because my brother asked me what I wanted. That CD was top on the list of what I desired to have hee hee... so I was very glad. The quality of the food was also good and we ate in the comfort of air-con and good music.

I really thank God for the wonderful time I had with my family tonight and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Though I didn't get to go Marina South, I believe Country Manna was a better place God had in mind for me. :)
