A Relaxing Saturday Again

Today was a day packed with programmes one after the other. Some were already planned, and some others were impromptu, but it was a day well-spent.

In the early afternoon, I was at church with a few of my cell group friends to witness the holy matrimony of Bro Kelvin and Sis Jun'er. Tristan was there as well and sat with us. After the reception, there was still about 3 hours more to go before I meet up with my cell group again in the evening for dinner at Bugis. So I thought about where I can go and what I can do as I didn't feel like going home and coming out again... Initially, Isabel had the intention to go home and get changed into something more comfy for the dinner outing. But when we reached Boon Lay Interchange, I felt rather thirsty and wanted to get a drink. As Isabel felt thirsty too, she wanted one too. In the end, she got a cup of iced bo bo cha while I got a cup of iced cheng teng, and we stood around the pillar just outside the level 1 Ocean Pacific outlet, drinking and chatting about her kids in school and about Taiwanese drama serials.

We must have stood there for about 20 minutes or so. By the time we finished our dessert, there wasn't a lot of time left for Isabel to go home. So we took train down to Orchard and did some window shopping there before making our way to Bugis. Gary had suggested of a nice place in Bugis area which sells very good wanton mee. So 7 of us (Gary, Meiling, Isabel, Geraldine, Gary's brother Gavin, Yuhao and myself) tried the wanton mee there. We could choose between the usual kind of steamed dumplings or fried dumplings to go with the noodle. And the food tasted really good.

After dinner, we trotted down to Shaw Cineplex-Beach Road to get tickets for 'Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire'. This was the something we didn't really plan for but everyone haven't watched it yet and were quite keen on it, so we went. As the show began at 9pm, we still had some time in between and went to Carrefour to walk around, before heading back to the cineplex.

Overall, the show was quite ok, except that I felt a bit bored at certain points and felt like closing my eyes to rest. It had a very dark theme running throughout though, but there were both humorous and heart-wrenching moments as well. For me, there were times when I couldn't quite catch the dialogue between the characters in the show, and had to rely on the chinese subtitles for understanding. That really helped a lot.

Reached home around 12.30am after that... to think that I actually survived the entire day on only three hours of sleep... it has to be supernatural strength coming from God. A very relaxing day indeed.
