SHOPPING DAY AT BUGIS
I was at Bugis today with some of my fellow cg mates (Isabel, Ivan, Gary, Meiling, Nan Yen) as well as a new friend, Weiling, who had joined us for Easter drama. Weiling is Nan Yen's colleague and she seemed quite happy to have us for company. We met at Bugis Junction's MacDonald's first and then made our way to the V8 Cafe for lunch. The cafe serves Western cuisine and has a very nice ambience. Both Isabel and Ivan ordered salmon spaghetti, like sister like brother haaa... Weiling had salmon fillet whereas Gary, Meiling & me had grilled chicken chop. Nan Yen had already taken breakfast before she came out so she drank only a glass of orange juice.
After lunch, we did a little bit of window shopping before Nan Yen, Weiling and Isabel had to go off respectively for other appointments. Oh, coincidentally, Isabel's Chinese name is also Weiling. :)
Following on from there, the remaining 4 of us continued to window-shop, with Meiling and me looking at women's clothing & trying them on while Gary and Ivan waited outside the shops haha... soon after, Ivan had to go off too so that left the 3 of us. Within the next 2 and a half hours, we went on shopping spree!! For Meiling, she got 2 very nice black tops and a cute, pinky sleeveless top. As for me, also not that many lah, just 2 hee... 1 dark pink V-neck top with embroidery on the front from People of Asia and 1 light pink top (New Zone Fashion) from one outlet in Bugis Village.
Thank God for Meiling for being my image consultant for the day, helping me to see what fits and what doesn't for every top that I tried on. It's not easy for her to walk around and to be standing for long hours cos she's into her 7th month pregnancy already, but she was very willing and eager to help me out. Really thank u so much, Mei. :)
In between all that shopping, we went to MOS Burger to sit down and get some rest. Gary and Mei shared apple pie and iced peach tea while I ate some fries and drank a cup of corn soup. After completing our unintended shopping spree, I left for home while the 2 continued looking around. On my way to Bugis MRT, I bumped into Daniel, Yingying and Wenyao. They were rushing to somewhere else so only managed to say 'Hi' to them. Didn't do any more buying after that and came straight home. Showed my mother the 2 tops and she liked them too.
Had a long day but I enjoyed my May Day today.
