Hot And Sunny Afternoon

It's another hot and sunny afternoon. From a distance, the sound of drilling coming from some construction / renovation work goes on and on without stopping. But thank God it's not the kind that can drown out my hearing.

I've just finished chatting with Nan Yen on the phone. She, too, is at home. She's going for an interview with Thye Hua Kwan Moral Society tomorrow, the same one I attended the last time. Incidentally, her interview session is also scheduled at 2.50pm like what I had. We also talked about wanting to go and take pictures of ourselves together with Isabel in our convocation gowns this weekend. Could be at NUS or major town areas... Annie had volunteered to be our photographer... but no specific time and place had been set yet. So Nan Yen will go and ask them both to see if they will be free, cos Nan Yen's gown is a rented piece and she will have to return it by the 2nd week of September.

Talking about convocation gowns brings back memories of NUS. I haven't been back there since the beginning of July. Hoping to go back to Arts one of these days cos I miss the yong tau foo laksa there! Though I was there for 4 years, I never tried the yong tau foo laksa until my final semester. During peak hours at the Arts canteen, you can see many students making a beeline for the yong tau foo stall. I always wonder what is so special about the laksa, but got to try it then you'll know! It's cheap and the ingredients are fresh. I loved it so much that I ate it like 2-3 times or more in a week! Each time I order, I will tell the auntie that I want "laksa cu mi fen bu yao dou ya" (thick rice noodles without beansprouts). And this went on for like 10-11 weeks, until each time the auntie sees me queuing up, she will know that I will be ordering exactly the same thing because she recognises me as the "ni jiu shi nei ge bu yao dou ya de" (you're the one who doesn't want beansprouts)!

Oh, and through my chat with Nan Yen earlier, I also realised that the Department of Social Work and Psychology in Arts has become 2 separate departments now from this academic year onwards... hmmm...

Feeling quite thirsty right now... going off now to drink some water to quench my thirst.
