BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS
I had an early celebration with my family last Sunday evening.
When my brother asked me a week ago as to where I wanted to celebrate at, I was at a loss for ideas. I couldn't decide if I wanted Sakae Sushi or steamboat BBQ. Both sounded good to me but, at the back of my mind, I knew there was something else which I wanted to try but haven't tried before. Then, all of a sudden, it came to mind. Rice Table! :)
Rice Table is a restaurant outlet that serves Indonesian ala-carte buffet. I've been wanting to eat there for as long as the past 2-3 years but had never stepped inside before as the cost is a bit high. I first knew about it through the variety programme City Beat (I believe), so ever since then I had a craving for it.
Thus, I told my brother I would like to eat at Rice Table this year and he was okay with it! Dinner was on him lor, hee hee... so I was really very happy! :)
Going out to dinner in my new green top from 77th Street

Me at Rice Table

Mummy and Daddy

Brother and Sis-in-law

Wide spread of food... the first three dishes in the foreground below are curry chicken, egg tofu, spicy & sour sotong. The waiters will lay out several dishes at one go (for 1st-timers) on food warmers so that we can sample each dish with hot, steamed rice before asking the waiters to replenish what we like. For us, they laid out 20 in the 1st round!

The sambal udang (prawns) and fried chicken wings are exceptionally good!

My favourite sambal kangkong! Otah, brinjal and fried fish in the background

The spicy beef rendang is a must-try!

Potato fritters and prawn crackers

My sis-in-law treated me to Yami Yogurt after the dinner! My cup of peach flavoured yogurt with mixed nuts

My dream cake!!! :) I've been eyeing it for a very long time already and dropped a very big hint to my brother last week... and he & my sis-in-law really got it for me! Hahaha... love you guys!! :)

Had a mini celebration back home. Ooooh, I love Hello Kitty!!!

Me and the cake

Look what my bro and sis-in-law gave me: Takashimaya vouchers and ang pow!!
